Eurowings Flies for the First Time to La Romana Airport

12/21/2015

Eurowings La Romana AirportLast Tuesday, November 17th, the La Romana Casa de Campo International Airport, had the honor of receiving the first flight from Eurowings Airlines from Cologne, Germany.

After landing at 11:30pm and being baptized with the traditional “water salute”, the 11 crewmen and 235 passengers on board the Airbus A330-200 aircraft, flown by Captain Uwe Leyh, were received by the airport authorities and the various institutions providing services within the airport facility.

Eurowings, one of the lines of the prestigious Lufthansa Group, had so far operated short and medium haul flights in Europe, but in 2015 has taken an important step forward with the operation of long-haul flights. The La Romana Airport in Casa de Campo was one of those chosen in this phase of expansion for its strategic geographic location in the center of the eastern region, and the excellent quality of its services.

With its two biweekly flights, Eurowings adds itself among other airlines that connect several German cities with the airport of La Romana Casa de Campo, bringing in hundreds of tourists every week to enjoy the hotel facilities in the La Romana- Bayahibe region, and the various compliments they have to offer, such as golf (especially in the famous Casa de Campo golf resort), marine and diving excursions, and without a doubt, the hospitality of Dominicans.

Welcome Eurowings!
